Image Sharpener

It creates a slightly blurred copy, subtracts it from the original to find edges, then amplifies those edges. Amount controls strength, Radius controls edge width, Threshold controls which edges are affected.

Sharpening enhances existing detail — it can't create detail that doesn't exist. Slightly soft images improve dramatically, but heavily blurred images have limited recovery potential.

It sharpens only the brightness channel, not the color. This prevents color fringing and halos that can appear with aggressive sharpening. Recommended for most uses.

Standard works for most images. Portrait is gentle on skin. Landscape enhances textures. Start with a preset then fine-tune. Use the compare slider to check results.

PNG output is lossless. JPG/WebP quality depends on the slider. The sharpening itself is pixel-level processing using convolution kernels for professional results.
