❓ FAQs

What is Simple Interest?
Simple Interest is calculated only on the original principal. For ₹1L at 10% for 5 years: ₹10,000/year × 5 = ₹50,000 total interest.
SI vs Compound Interest?
SI is linear (same each year). CI is exponential (grows each year). For ₹1L at 10% for 5 years: SI=₹50,000 but CI=₹61,051. CI is always more for periods > 1 year.
Can I calculate for months/days?
Yes! Use the toggle buttons to switch between Years, Months, and Days. The calculator automatically converts to years for the formula.
Where is SI used?
SI is used in short-term loans, car loans (flat rate), some FDs, government bonds, and agricultural loans.
